Internet Policies
Effective June 30, 1999

I. Validation:
Customer use of any or all services provided by Computer World agrees to abide by these policies.

II. Overview:
This document details the policies and procedures established by Computer World operating as the domain awink.com. They pertain to any connection made to any equipment owned or operated by Computer World commonly know as the Internet. These services are offered for Computer World customers on a fee for service basis.

III. Service:
Provided on the basis of one account to one user, the following applies: a minimal initial account creation charge, an annual or monthly usage charge. If more than one user associated with a billing name wishes to use the system, each must have a separate account. Regardless of who pays the bill for an account, the information and mail it contains are considered the property of the registered USER of the account, and the account may not be passed on to any other. If the USER of the account wishes to continue use of the account after the account is removed from the billing to another account, a new billing may be established with the signing of a new contract stating account changes.

IV. Rights and Responsibilities:
The following details the Rights and Responsibilities of Computer World and their Customers. These Rights and Responsibilities are subject to change without notice. Computer World's Rights: Computer World retains the right to prohibit a Customer's access to the system at any time for any reason. Computer World retains ownership of all commercial software purchased by Computer World for use by Customers on the system, and may remove such software at any time. As well as, the right to substitute hardware and operating software as it sees fit, but will endeavor to maintain a consistent Customer interface and working software set.

Computer World's Responsibilities: Computer World is responsible for providing the Customer a consistent set of tools and resources. Computer World will make available a full Internet News feed subject to applicable laws regarding minors and access to adult oriented new groups.

Customer's Rights:The customer has the right to private correspondence via Electronic Mail. Customer has the right to private storage of information in their home directory. The mailboxes on the system are subject to size limitations. If a customer's mailbox goes over 25MB, new incoming email will bounce back to the sender. To prevent mail problems caused by large mailboxes, clear off email messages each time they are retrieved.

Customer Responsibilities: The Customer is responsible for maintaining security of their assigned account(s) on the system. Login name is public knowledge, however the password associated with the login name is privileged, and should not be published or given to any other person(s). If the customer knows or feels that their password has been compromised, the Customer should immediately change their password. The Customer should not use trivial passwords. The Customer will change their password if requested by Computer World for any reason.The customer is responsible for all activity on the system performed under the customer's login unless the customer informs Computer World of any breach of security in a timely fashion. The customer is responsible for paying for all services and charges incurred by the account. Failure to keep the account balance current will result in suspension of the account until the balance has been paid including a reconnection charge of up to $25.00. It should be noted that the fees charged for service are based upon 100% automatic billing, and repeated disputing of an account makes it not worth our while to continue serving the account.

V. System Security:
Computer World aims to provide privacy for its Customers' mail and home directory contents. In addition, Computer World aims to control and prohibit any security breach from within the system, or from outside via the Internet connection. Having established that the owner of the account is the only one that is allowed to use the account, it follows that anything done in the name of the account is the responsibility of the account holder. Computer World maintains logs of system activity. Customer activity is not monitored. This information is used to compile the monthly usage billings to Customer.

Prohibited Activities: Trying to break any security features implemented by Computer World. Such as: running any password cracking programs, viruses, Trojan horses, etc., as well as trying to circumvent file permissions. Using the system as a base for an attack of any type on other systems. This includes continued harassment of individuals by electronic mail and creating any mail or network commands with false or anonymous origination information.
